Domenico Raguseo, Cybersecurity Director of Exprivia, underlines in relation to the hacker attack that occurred on a global scale: "Right now we have 791 compromised servers in the world, of which only 5 are in Italy, while France has 220 and the USA 185 The phenomenon therefore affects Italy only marginally, either because hackers have decided to target other nations more or because Italy has been more effective in proactively protecting itself by installing the necessary defenses. This is yet to be ascertained. It should also be highlighted that, while it is easy to identify direct damage, it is more complicated to identify indirect damage caused by attacks". In this regard, the Cybersecurity Director of Exprivia gives an explanatory example: "If a server used to check-in to a means of transport does not work, whoever provides the service is immediately penalized, as is the passenger who cannot complete its activities. Sometimes these can coincide with going to undergo an operation, and that delay could be an indirect damage ". "In an interconnected and transnational digital system - Raguseo continues - it is difficult to attribute attacks to groups attributable to a nation, and we must acknowledge that we must never let our guard down on system vulnerabilities", he concludes. #Cybersecurity
